The Season 52 premiere of *Saturday Night Live*, hosted by Jalen Brunson, was delayed in many parts of the United States because a college football game ran late. The disruption affected several local affiliates, although the programme aired live in some markets and was available live on Peacock.

Oregon defeated USC 41–27 in a game that ended more than 15 minutes behind schedule, with Oregon quarterback Dante Moore taken to hospital after a late hit. Stations in Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Baltimore, Dallas and Charlotte were among those affected, while New York, Boston, Washington, DC and Miami broadcast the episode live; the show also introduced new cast members Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter.
