‘Snoop’ Biopic At Universal Adds Laya DeLeon Hayes, Olly Sholotan, Corey Champagne And Jonica Booth To Cast

Universal Pictures has added Laya DeLeon Hayes, Olly Sholotan, Corey Champagne and Jonica Booth to the cast of its forthcoming Snoop Dogg biopic, Snoop. The film will chart the rapper’s rise from Long Beach to becoming a major 1990s music figure and wider pop-culture icon, and marks the first production under Death Row Pictures’ overall agreement with NBCUniversal Entertainment.

Hayes will play Snoop Dogg’s wife, Shante Broadus, while Sholotan, Champagne and Booth will portray Kurupt, Nate Dogg and The Lady of Rage respectively. Craig Brewer will direct from his rewrite of Joe Robert Cole’s script; Snoop Dogg and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker are producing alongside Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum, and the film will use music from Snoop Dogg’s catalogue.
