Snoop Dogg Biopic Finds Its Dr. Dre in Myles Bullock Be (Exclusive)
Universal Pictures has cast Myles Bullock Be as Dr. Dre in "Snoop," its upcoming biopic of rapper and entertainment mogul Snoop Dogg, The Hollywood Reporter revealed exclusively. Craig Brewer directs, with Jonathan Daviss (Outer Banks) playing Snoop Dogg himself. The casting reunites Bullock Be with Brewer, who previously directed him in Peacock's Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.
The film is produced by Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum, alongside Snoop Dogg and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker, and will explore the pivotal mentorship between Dre and Snoop that began in the early 1990s and produced hits including "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" and the album Doggystyle. Brewer wrote the latest script draft, building on an earlier version by Joe Robert Cole, and the film will feature music from Snoop Dogg's extensive catalogue. Universal, which also made Straight Outta Compton, will release Snoop on 6 August 2027; Bullock Be is currently filming as a lead in Hulu's Prison Break: Black Creek.
