A biopic charting the life and career of Snoop Dogg has been given a cinema release date of 6 August 2027. Universal Pictures confirmed the project last year, with director Craig Brewer (Coming 2 America, Hustle & Flow) attached and Outer Banks actor Jonathan Daviss cast in the lead role, marking a step forward on a film that has been in development since 2022.

Titled Snoop, the film is the first project under Universal's overall deal with Death Row Pictures, the rapper's own content label. It will be produced by Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer alongside Snoop Dogg and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker, though plot details remain unconfirmed, leaving it unclear whether it will cover his whole career or a single chapter. The announcement follows earlier news that Snoop is also set to appear on-screen in a horror film from director Eli Roth.
