The rapper, formerly of Shoreline Mafia, has repeatedly denied the claims, insisting the track was recorded conventionally aside from unusual vocal effects, but mounting technical evidence has cast doubt on his account.

Producer Medasin publicly dissected the song for AI hallmarks, notably finding a reference to "Sonauto.mp3" in an old file name—Sonauto being the former name of AI music platform Treblo before it rebranded just days before "Rubberz" was released. Fenix's attempt to rebut this by sharing isolated song stems was undermined when commenters pointed out that stem separators can easily split any finished track. Compounding matters, Treblo itself launched a detection tool that flagged "Rubberz" as "very likely" AI-generated, with cofounder Ryan Tremblay seemingly acknowledging the song may have used their model, even as the tool's methodology remains unverified by independent parties.
