Spectrum COO Nick Jeffery Touts “The Great Cable Comeback” As He Assumes Charter Exec Post

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Nick Jeffery has begun his role as chief operating officer of Spectrum, the consumer-facing brand of Charter Communications, marking his move from the top job at Frontier Communications following its acquisition by Verizon earlier this year. In a LinkedIn post on his first day, Jeffery declared "the Great Cable Comeback" was under way, pledging to sharpen customer experience, adopt a more creative go-to-market strategy and improve day-to-day operational performance at the company.

The appointment comes as Charter, the largest US cable operator, seeks to counter investor unease, with its shares down 30% so far in 2026 amid worries over slowing broadband growth and continued cord-cutting. The firm has nonetheless shown signs of stabilisation, gaining subscribers in the fourth quarter of 2025 and limiting pay-TV losses to just 21,000 in the second quarter of this year, partly by bundling streaming services such as Disney+, Peacock and Paramount+ into its Spectrum packages following a 2023 carriage deal with Disney. As of 30 June, Charter reported 12.5 million pay-TV customers and 29.4 million internet customers, with added streaming value said to total $127 per customer per month.
