A high-quality unauthorised copy of ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ was posted on X ahead of its cinema release weekend, reaching millions of viewers before being removed. The leak highlights the continuing difficulty studios face in containing piracy of major releases, even when they pursue rapid takedowns.

The video reportedly reached 5.9 million accounts, attracting more than 143,000 likes and 10,000 reposts between 6:05 a.m. and about 3:25 p.m. Pacific time. Sony declined to comment, while the film has nevertheless performed strongly, taking a record $72 million in previews; it stars Tom Holland and Zendaya.
