## Summary

Tyler Forney, a long-serving Adelaide Angels baseball player, has lost sight in one eye after being struck by a foul ball during a match. The injury ended his playing career and has prompted support from his club and the wider Adelaide baseball community as he faces recovery and adjusts to life beyond sport.

Forney, originally from Arizona, moved to Australia about a decade ago and was in his 11th season with the Angels; he played his 300th game for the club earlier this year. Surgery could not save the sight in his injured eye. A fundraiser for Forney and his young family had raised almost A$16,000 within several days, with rival clubs also sending support.
