Squeeze issue statement after worker dies at venue

Louder · 2 hours ago

Squeeze cancelled their scheduled concert at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts in Vienna, Virginia, on 3 September after a worker died in an incident in the venue's car park. The band said they were "deeply saddened and shocked" and, following discussions with the venue and authorities, decided to call off the show, with ticket holders to be updated about a possible reschedule.

According to a report by local outlet FOX 5, a worker was crushed and killed when the supporting apparatus beneath a tour bus he was working on collapsed; he was pronounced dead at the scene. It remains unclear whether the bus involved belonged to Squeeze or another act. The band's Tried, Tested, and Trixies tour continues on 4 September at the Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, Ohio, with further US, UK, Japanese, New Zealand and Australian dates running into next April.
