A hospital patient has denied stalking an NHS health worker who cared for him, with a court hearing he became obsessed with her after she treated him on a ward at St Bernard's Hospital in Southall, west London. Leon Khan, 40, allegedly bombarded Sylwia Anczakowska with dozens of emails and songs over 20 months, and later made threatening calls to her new employer in an apparent attempt to get her sacked after she rejected his advances. Prosecutors told Isleworth Crown Court that Khan believed, wrongly, that Ms Anczakowska reciprocated his feelings, and that his campaign caused her severe alarm and distress.

The court heard Khan sent around 50 emails and 17 songs, and offered a Harrods gift card that Ms Anczakowska refused. After his discharge he pressured her to meet him, setting an ultimatum for 12 February which she ignored, and when she left the hospital to work at Car Planet in Enfield, he allegedly rang the dealership repeatedly on Valentine's Day, threatening to "send guys around" and accusing her of theft and gang involvement. Khan denies stalking involving serious alarm or distress between 1 June 2024 and 15 February 2026.
