Star Wars has announced Twin Crossroads, a new novel centred on Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, due for release in 2027. Written by bestselling author Beth Revis, it will explore a comparatively underdeveloped period between Return of the Jedi and the rise of the New Republic, focusing on the siblings’ lives after the Empire’s defeat.

The announcement was made at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Set after the destruction of the second Death Star, the story follows Luke and Leia training in the Force on Ajan Kloss while the fledgling New Republic continues fighting remaining Imperial forces.
