Marvel's Spider-Man: Brand New Day has topped the North American box office for a sixth consecutive weekend, becoming only the second film ever to cross $900 million domestically. Its global total has reached $2.4 billion, making it the third-highest-grossing film of all time behind Avengers: Endgame and Avatar, and putting it on course to overtake Star Wars: The Force Awakens' long-standing domestic record.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland in his fourth outing as Spider-Man, the film also features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Sadie Sink and a cameo from Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. It earned a further $18 million in its sixth weekend, taking its domestic total to $917 million against a reported $225 million budget, and its success is credited with reviving momentum for the MCU ahead of December's Avengers: Doomsday.
