## Key points

- Strong winds led the Steelers to cancel their first planned practice in France.
- A separate fan event in Bastille was cancelled as a precaution.
- The Sunday game against the Saints remained on schedule.

## Summary

The Pittsburgh Steelers cancelled a planned practice after arriving in France, citing strong winds and the timing of their journey. The setback comes as the team prepares for Sunday’s regular-season game against the New Orleans Saints, which both teams still expect to go ahead.

The Steelers had flown from western Pennsylvania on Thursday evening and arrived on Friday morning; reported winds in the area were steady at 20 mph. The team had also cancelled a planned fan event in Paris’s Bastille area as a precaution following recent disruptions, while saying there had been no impact at NFL sites and that it remained confident about the game.
