Fox News hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade, both of whom were on air covering the 11 September 2001 attacks, will lead the network's coverage marking the 25th anniversary of the tragedy. The occasion carries particular weight for the pair, as both were thrust into rolling crisis reporting that day and remain among the few journalists from that original coverage still working. Fox's expanded programming reflects a wider trend among US broadcasters, who are offering more extensive anniversary coverage than usual given the milestone.

"Fox & Friends" will run a week of anniversary programming: Doocy hosts a "Breakfast with Friends" segment near Ground Zero, meets Tunnels to Towers Foundation chief Frank Siller in Washington, and broadcasts from the Flight 93 crash site in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, before reporting from Ground Zero on 11 September itself, while Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt and Lawrence Jones anchor from Jersey City. Other Fox programmes will also mark the day, including a live reading of victims' names on "America's Newsroom" and interviews on "The Story" with Cardinal Timothy Dolan and NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, alongside similar commemorative efforts from ABC, NBC, CBS, MS NOW and CNN.
