Progressive rock guitarist Steve Hackett, best known for his time in Genesis, appears in a new video for the track Lilly, taken from a reissued version of Robert Reed's Kompendium project. The video accompanies the release of "Beneath The Waves – The Director's Cut", a reworked edition of Reed's ambitious 2012 all-star album, which came out last week through Tigermoth Records via Prog magazine's coverage. The reissue matters to fans of the genre as it revives a large-scale collaborative project featuring numerous respected musicians and gives it wider exposure with additional, previously unfinished material.

The original 2012 album brought together an extensive roster of guest musicians alongside Hackett, including Gavin Harrison, Nick Barrett, Jakko Jakszyk, Francis Dunnery, John Mitchell, Nick Beggs, Troy Donockley and Mel Collins, plus The English Chamber Choir, the London Session Orchestra and opera singers Rhys Meirion and Shan Cothi. Reed said the album, which took over three years to make, was intended to recapture the ambition of classic orchestral rock records such as Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds, with sessions recorded at Abbey Road and Angel Studios. The Director's Cut restores tracks left off the original due to time constraints, adds new contributions from Peter Jones and Les Penning, and is available as a standard CD or a Deluxe Edition with a 28-page book and postcards signed by Reed.
