## Key points

- Vai calls the SATCHVAI album his favourite collaboration.
- *The Sea Of Emotion* is released on 6 November.
- It includes a teenage recording of the pair playing together.

## Summary

Steve Vai says making *The Sea Of Emotion*, the debut album by SATCHVAI with longtime friend Joe Satriani, was his favourite collaboration. He describes the pair’s musical exchange as enjoyable and says they created songs that would not sound like a typical Vai or Satriani record.

The album is due out on 6 November 2026 through earMUSIC, following more than 50 years of friendship and musical connection. Much of it was written remotely, with the musicians sending ideas back and forth; its third movement includes a recording of them playing together as teenagers, when Vai was taking lessons from Satriani.
