Back to the Future will return to cinemas on 21 October 2026 in a special one-day 4DX screening. The re-release will allow audiences to experience Steven Spielberg’s and Robert Zemeckis’s time-travel classic with moving seats and environmental effects, marking another celebration of the film’s enduring popularity.

The screening follows the franchise’s 40th-anniversary celebrations and coincides with the fan-created Back to the Future Day, inspired by the date visited in the sequel. Fans can also mark the occasion with Back to the Future: The Complete Screenplay, a new book by Bob Gale containing production scripts, notes, deleted scenes, photographs, sketches and other behind-the-scenes material.
