Stray bullet from nearby lounge fight kills Frito-Lay worker inside Sam’s Club

Fox News · 3 hours ago

A stray bullet fired during an argument outside a Nashville lounge travelled through the wall of a nearby Sam's Club and killed an employee who was working inside, police have said. The victim, 55-year-old Paris Carlock of Murfreesboro, was carrying out an early-morning stock check in the store's chip aisle when he was struck in the head, highlighting how gun violence connected to unrelated disputes can endanger uninvolved bystanders in public spaces.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from a fight that began inside the Lavo Lounge on Antioch Pike, which continued outside after security removed those involved. Gunshots were heard as vehicles fled the scene shortly after 4am, with one bullet piercing the Sam's Club's exterior wall and hitting Carlock as he worked nearby. Store staff attempted to help him before he was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating but has made no arrests, and is appealing for information via Crime Stoppers.
