StubHub CEO faces questions from House Democrats over his stake in a hedge fund reselling tickets on his own marketplace
House Democrats have asked StubHub chief executive Eric Baker to explain his ownership stake in Andro Capital, a hedge fund that resells tickets through StubHub. Ranking Member Robert Garcia says the arrangement may represent a conflict of interest and could have disadvantaged consumers and smaller sellers; the allegations have not been proven.
The request follows a CBC investigation citing SEC filings showing that Baker has been part owner and managing director of Andro since 2008, and that StubHub covered some Andro costs in 2024. Garcia also cited more than $3 million allegedly owed to an Andro affiliate in early 2026, while a proposed class action filed on 13 July makes similar claims. StubHub said the relevant information was fully disclosed in its public SEC filings, and Baker has been asked to respond by 6 August.
- Democrats question StubHub chief’s links to ticket-reselling fund.
- Allegations centre on possible conflicts of interest.
- StubHub says the arrangements were publicly disclosed.
