Sunderland agree loan deal with Spurs for Danso
Sunderland are set to complete a season-long loan deal for Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Kevin Danso, with an option to make the transfer permanent. The move follows Spurs' initial rejection of the Black Cats' proposal, before talks reopened once Tottenham secured a replacement, clearing the way for Danso's departure.
The breakthrough came after Tottenham agreed to sign centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, 28, from Chelsea, which freed the club to let Danso, 27, leave without weakening their defensive options. Danso, an Austria international, joined Spurs on loan from French club Lens in January 2025 before the move was made permanent later that year for £20.9m.
