The Hollywood Reporter has published a largely negative review of "Super Troopers 3," the third instalment in Broken Lizard's comedy franchise, ahead of its release on Friday 7 August. Reviewer Frank Scheck dismisses the film as another "moronic comedy" heavy on crude and ethnic humour, arguing it will do little to win over anyone who wasn't already a fan of the previous two films, released 25 years and eight years earlier respectively.

The film, subtitled "Farva's Wedding," centres on trooper Farva's whirlwind romance with Thorny's sister Sarita after he rescues her from a burning car, with Thorny attempting to sabotage the traditional Indian wedding to spite his old-fashioned parents. The original Broken Lizard cast returns, including Jay Chandrasekhar (who also directs), Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske and Paul Soter, alongside Brian Cox reprising his role as the retired but ever-present Captain O'Hagan. Additional subplots involve jealousy over a rookie trooper's flirtation with Ursula and an illicit maple syrup scheme run by former weed dealers turned wedding planners.
