DC Films is developing a television series centred on Mr. Terrific, a character introduced in last year's Superman film. Allan Heinberg, recognised for television work on The OC and Grey's Anatomy as well as screenwriting the 2017 Wonder Woman film, has been selected to write the pilot. His background encompasses major television drama, superhero cinema, and comic book authorship.

The Mr. Terrific character, portrayed by Edi Gathegi, debuted in Superman as part of an ensemble of DC superheroes. The character will reappear in the next Superman sequel before the spinoff launches. The project is currently in development with no confirmed release date, representing one of several expansions of the Superman universe into television alongside a comedy series featuring a Daily Planet journalist.
