Swansea City's leading scorer from last season, Zan Vipotnik, has yet to open his account this campaign despite the Championship leaders making an unbeaten start to the season. The Slovenian striker, who won last term's second-tier golden boot with 23 league goals, has largely been left out of the starting XI, raising questions about his role and future even as manager Vitor Matos insists his form will return.

Vipotnik, 24, has started only one league match this season, with £6m summer signing Adam Idah preferred up front and already netting twice. Speculation over a possible departure has also swirled, with Hull City's £10m bid rejected and former Wales striker Nathan Blake suggesting the uncertainty may have affected him mentally; Matos, however, praised Vipotnik's all-round contribution in Saturday's goalless draw with Wrexham and backed him to start scoring again soon, ahead of Tuesday's trip to Southampton.
