Fox News · 3 hours ago

A 22-year-old woman was killed and five other people were injured in a shooting in the early hours of Sunday at a rave in Aarau, northern Switzerland, prompting a major police search for those responsible. The attack took place at "Aarau Rave VOL. 7", held at a horse-racing track in the Schachen area, with the identity and motive of the attacker or attackers still unknown as investigations continue.

The woman died at the scene, while four men and another woman, all aged between 24 and 27 and all Swiss residents, were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Police said the alarm was raised shortly after 2:30am, close to the event's scheduled 2am finish, and a large area around the venue was cordoned off as officers, firefighters, a special police unit and a military helicopter took part in the search, with German police also assisting under routine cross-border cooperation. Authorities have appealed for witnesses to share video or photographs, and DJ Tekibo, who performed at the event, described the incident as "absolutely heartbreaking" on Instagram, saying he had lost an "important friend."
