Darcy Jenson jailed for 18 years over fatal Bali villa shooting
Darcy Jenson, a 28-year-old Sydney plumber, has been jailed for 18 years by Indonesia's Supreme Court for organising the hit squad that shot dead Melbourne man Zivan Radmanovic, 32, in a luxury Bali villa in June last year. In an unusual outcome, Jenson — who was not present at the scene and did not fire a shot — received a longer sentence than the two men who carried out the killing, after the trio's appeals against their earlier terms backfired.
Jenson arranged the logistics for the attack at the villa in Munggu, which was carried out by Mevlut Coskun, 23, and Paea I Middlemore Tupou, 27. On 3 July the Supreme Court increased the sentences it reviewed after all three appealed against terms set by the High Court: Jenson's rose from 17 to 18 years, Tupou's to 17 years and Coskun's to 16 years. None will face the death penalty. The trio testified that they had been hired to collect a debt from another man staying at the villa. Their lawyer said the team respected the court's decision.
