Sydney’s former Qudos Bank Arena has officially reopened as Afterpay Arena after a physical refurbishment and the launch of a five-year naming-rights partnership. The deal makes it Australia’s first major entertainment venue to offer Afterpay payment options throughout the fan experience, reflecting buy-now-pay-later firms’ growing involvement in live events.

The partnership runs until 2031 and includes tickets payable in four interest-free instalments, alongside Square-powered contactless payments for food, drink and merchandise. The arena, which attracts about 1.1 million visitors each year, has received redesigned foyers and hospitality areas, new wayfinding and a large transparent holographic LED installation; upcoming performers include Tame Impala, J. Cole and Robyn.
