System of a Down have released a 25th anniversary reissue of their landmark album Toxicity, alongside a dedicated merchandise capsule, to mark a quarter-century since the record's release. The reissue matters to fans not just as a nostalgic milestone but for correcting a long-standing piece of album trivia and unearthing rare material previously reserved for limited editions, giving the celebration genuine collector appeal rather than being a purely commercial re-release.

The CD edition features new artwork and finally correctly titles the album's hidden track, long known informally as "Arto", as "Der Voghormia", a traditional Armenian hymn. The vinyl version comes in a special colour pressing with a bonus 7-inch single containing "Johnny", a track previously only found on rare special editions. The wider merch capsule includes a recreation of the exclusive T-shirt handed out at the album's release party (an event notably shut down by police), plus "Chop Suey!"-themed Chinese takeaway earrings, a compact mirror, skate decks, ashtrays and new apparel designs, all available via the band's webstore. Toxicity was originally released on 4 September 2001 and has previously been ranked highly by Consequence among the best albums of that year and among the best sophomore albums of all time.
