HBO's hospital drama The Pitt secured 25 Emmy nominations, among them a first-ever nod for Tal Anderson in the best guest actress category, for playing Becca King, the autistic younger sister of Taylor Dearden's Dr Mel King. Anderson, who is autistic herself, described the recognition as a major moment, noting that she never saw characters like herself on screen while growing up and that the nomination feels like an affirmation that it is acceptable to be autistic, disabled and different.

Anderson said the heart of Becca's second-season storyline was her fight for bodily autonomy, sparked when Mel discovers her sister is sexually active, and cited a line about enjoying sex as groundbreaking for the disabled community. She praised her rapport with Dearden, who also earned her first nomination, and welcomed other first-time nominees from the show, including Patrick Ball and Sepideh Moafi. Anderson added that the best accommodation on set was simply being treated as a professional, like any other member of the cast and crew.
