Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker has introduced new rules limiting fan interactions during the North American leg of his Deadbeat Tour, citing "aggressive autograph hounds" who target him outside hotels and airports. Parker said he would no longer sign autographs or pose for photos in these settings, explaining that some of these individuals have started using children to approach him, which he described as "all kinds of wrong". The move highlights growing concerns among touring musicians about organised networks that exploit fan encounters for profit and safety risks.

Announcing the change on Instagram Stories in the early hours of 8 September, Parker referenced a phenomenon known as "hotel graphing", in which people posing as fans track celebrities' locations and sell that information for money. He also said he would stop meeting fans in venue car parks after shows, a practice he had maintained through his European dates but which had grown too large for his security team to manage safely. The tour continues in Portland, Oregon, before further US dates in Denver, Phoenix and Dallas, with a UK and European run planned for summer 2027, including shows in Manchester, London, Rotterdam, Paris, Cologne, Gdynia, Werchter and Lisbon.
