Taylor made! Adorable guide dogs named after newly married Swift graduate from training
Ten guide dog puppies named after Taylor Swift's music have begun graduating from their training, with the first, a golden retriever and Labrador cross called Archer, now qualified and working in Kent. The Guide Dogs charity gave the litter, born in 2024, names inspired by the singer as part of a campaign to encourage her fans, known as Swifties, to volunteer as puppy-raisers, at a time when hundreds of people with sight loss are waiting for a guide dog.
Archer, named after a track on Swift's album Lover, notably qualified on the day of the star's wedding to Travis Kelce and has been matched with a local guide dog owner after training with the charity's Maidstone team. Another puppy, Peter — named after a song on Swift's eleventh album, The Tortured Poets Department — has also graduated and been homed in Sheffield, while August has been identified as an ideal mother and will go on to breed her own puppies. The remaining littermates, including Betty, Inez, Marjorie, Clara, James, Tim and London, are still in training, with volunteers across the UK raising the dogs from around eight weeks old for their first year before formal training begins.
