## Summary

Director Peter Berg says the planned Call of Duty film will explore the human cost and emotional burden of war, alongside its action. He and writer Taylor Sheridan aim to give the adaptation what Berg calls the “soul” of the Modern Warfare stories, whose soldiers are portrayed as complex people.

Paramount and Activision announced the big-budget film in 2025, promising to serve existing fans while reaching new audiences. It is scheduled to open in cinemas on 30 June 2028, after earlier efforts to bring the franchise to screen failed to come together; a Battlefield film is also in development.
