Taylor Sheridan's hit oil drama "Landman" will not return for its third season in 2026 as many fans had hoped, with the show now confirmed to resume streaming sometime in 2027. The delay comes despite a busy year for Sheridan, who has expanded the Yellowstone universe with spin-offs such as Dutton Ranch and Marshals, though the latter received a cooler reception from fans for its more conventional, network-style storytelling.

Production on Landman Season 3 had originally been due to start earlier this year but was pushed back to September, making it impossible to complete and release a finished season before the end of 2026. Starring Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter, Landman debuted in late 2024 and returned for a second season almost exactly a year later; its third instalment will now break that annual pattern. Sheridan is also working on screenplays for forthcoming F.A.S.T. and Call of Duty projects, though he will not direct either, instead reuniting with past collaborators Peter Berg and Ben Richardson respectively.
