The series marked a notable shift for Sheridan, known for crime dramas and modern Westerns, as it instead focuses on a family's grief and healing rather than his usual shootouts and power struggles, and its success reinforced his continued dominance across television with hit shows such as Yellowstone, Landman, Tulsa King and Lioness.

"The Madison" premiered in March 2026 and follows the Clyburn family as they relocate to the American West after a tragedy, drawing over 8 million viewers for its debut, the biggest series launch of Sheridan's career. It has since been renewed for two further seasons, with Season 2 already filmed and expected in early 2027, while Paramount Home Media's two-disc Blu-ray/DVD set is now available for pre-order ahead of its October 2026 release.
