Taylor Swift’s song ‘August’ has been removed from a TikTok video posted by Donald Trump’s team after the account joked that she would be “super excited” about its use. The removal matters because it follows a long-running political and public dispute between Swift and Trump, although Swift has not commented on the latest incident.

The Team Trump video, posted on 3 August, showed Trump and Melania Trump watching fireworks while ‘August’ played; it now displays a notice saying the sound is unavailable. Audio from two other Team Trump posts using Swift songs, ‘Father Figure’ and ‘Opalite’, has also reportedly become unavailable. Swift endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, and several other artists have previously criticised or objected to Trump-linked accounts using their music.
