Apple TV has released the trailer for the fourth season of "Ted Lasso," confirming a premiere date and giving fans their first look at Ted's new coaching role. The season debuts with a single episode on Wednesday 5 August, with the remaining nine episodes airing weekly through to 7 October, ending months of uncertainty over whether the acclaimed comedy would return after its third season appeared to serve as a natural conclusion.

In the new season, Ted (Jason Sudeikis) returns to Richmond to coach a second-division women's football team, having spent recent years back in the United States, with the synopsis promising the squad will "leap before they look" across the ten-episode run. Returning cast members include Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift, joined by newcomers such as Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack and Faye Marsay; notably, the men's players from earlier seasons do not feature. The show, which won consecutive best comedy Emmys for its first two seasons, is executive produced by Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Brendan Hunt among others, with Lawrence's Doozer Productions again working alongside Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television.
