A teenage girl has spoken about the abuse she suffered from her ex-boyfriend, a former Scots College student, while he was on bail facing dozens of charges involving child abuse material and bestiality. Ethan Ungerboeck, then 20, met Ellie (not her real name), 16, on the video game Fortnite in June last year, roughly six months after the Australian Federal Police raided a family property as part of an investigation into online groups trading child abuse and self-harm material. Ungerboeck later pleaded guilty to four domestic violence offences over his treatment of Ellie but avoided a criminal conviction after his lawyer successfully cited his ADHD and depression.

Ellie has described being bitten so hard her face went numb and burnt with a cigarette so severely the wound became infected, as well as being made to sleep in Ungerboeck's car for days at a time during their three-week relationship. She said he kept her secret from his parents, making her climb over a fence to avoid CCTV cameras at their $6 million Maroubra mansion. Ungerboeck, who had previously admitted threatening to kill and mutilate another former girlfriend, still has no criminal record.
