A major search and rescue operation is under way after a teenage boy went missing in the sea at Marloes Sands beach in Pembrokeshire, west Wales. He entered the water with two other people on Sunday afternoon and got into difficulty at around 3pm; the other two managed to swim to safety, but the boy has not been found. The incident has prompted an extensive response from multiple emergency services, and police have asked the public to stay away from the beach while it continues.

HM Coastguard first received reports of the incident at around 3.30pm on Sunday, and RNLI lifeboats, coastguard rescue teams and Dyfed-Powys Police have since been searching for more than 24 hours. Helicopters were seen over the beach for more than four hours overnight, with the search reportedly paused around 3am on Monday before resuming at first light; teams from Broad Haven, Dale and St David's are supported by Angle and Littlehaven RNLI lifeboats and a specialist drone unit. Marloes Sands is a popular tourist beach that is known for hazardous underwater rocks at certain times.
