Teenage boy’s horrific injuries including missing teeth revealed after e-bike crash that sent him into ‘deep coma’
A 17-year-old Florida boy awoke after spending weeks in a deep coma caused by a serious electric-bike crash involving two cars. His recovery has offered hope to his family, although doctors say he remains in a disorder of consciousness and faces a long rehabilitation.
Anthony McBride Jr suffered a stage-three diffuse axonal brain injury and other serious injuries, including missing teeth, after the early-August collision in Wilton Manors. He can open his eyes, respond to touch and sound, and make some movements, but is not yet fully aware of his surroundings; police said the drivers were identified and co-operated, while the cause remains unclear.
