A 19-year-old man died after being electrocuted at Boston's Forest Hills MBTA subway station while trying to help his girlfriend, who had fallen onto the tracks. Frankey Wright Jr and his girlfriend were entering the station on Saturday morning after attending Boston's 53rd annual Caribbean Festival when she lost her balance and fell onto the platform edge; when she attempted to stand and fell again, Wright went to help her a second time and ended up on the tracks himself, coming into contact with the electrified third rail.

The woman was critically injured and remains in hospital, while Wright did not survive. MBTA Transit Police, who confirmed foul play is not suspected, said Superintendent Richard Sullivan described the incident as "a horrific tragedy" and extended condolences to the family. Wright's relatives have since launched a GoFundMe campaign, describing him as a "noble boy with a big heart" who "put others before himself even in his final moments," to help cover funeral costs.
