## Summary

Austin firefighters rescued a raccoon whose head became stuck in a hole in a tree after a concerned neighbour called for help. The rescue drew attention because the animal appeared limp as it was lowered, but officials later confirmed it had survived and was unharmed.

Firefighters used a Jaws of Life-type tool to free the raccoon, then lowered it with a catch pole and handed it to Animal Control. The Austin Firefighter Association said the animal was tired after a prolonged struggle, and thanked people who had expressed concern.
