- The excerpt praises *Feud* and *Alfred Hitchcock Presents* Season 4.

## Summary

Anthology television lets each episode or season tell a self-contained story, giving creators room to experiment beyond a continuing plot. The article ranks ten of the greatest anthology seasons, arguing that the format’s flexibility can produce exceptional work even when a series is uneven overall.

The excerpt highlights *Amazing Stories* Season 2 for giving distinctive filmmakers such as Joe Dante, Robert Zemeckis and Brad Bird room to explore different genres, and *Feud* for its portrayal of Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, played by Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange. It also praises *Alfred Hitchcock Presents* Season 4, which opened with Hitchcock’s suspenseful “Poison” and included an episode written by Ray Bradbury. The supplied article text cuts off during its discussion of that season, so it does not show the full ranking.
