## Summary

In 2005, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell hosted a charity screening of *To Kill a Mockingbird* in Aspen, Colorado. Hawn called the 1962 film her favourite, praising its acting, direction and music, and its ability to entertain while addressing racism.

The adaptation of Harper Lee’s novel stars Gregory Peck as lawyer Atticus Finch, appointed to defend a Black man accused of raping a white woman. Told largely through the eyes of Finch’s children, the film also builds suspense through the courtroom case and their fear of the reclusive Boo Radley, played by Robert Duvall. Russell said Atticus Finch partly inspired his psychiatrist character in *Vanilla Sky*.
