The £2.2m Georgian country house wedding venue ‘operating as an illegal weight loss jab drugs factory’ where 12,000 doses were seized by investigators

More than 12,000 doses of illegal weight-loss injections have been seized from Moulton Grange, a £2.2million Georgian country house in Northamptonshire that operates as a luxury wedding and corporate events venue. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) raided the property on 28 May as part of an ongoing investigation into unlicensed medicines, arresting two 29-year-old men who were later released. The MHRA has described it as the UK's largest-ever seizure of unlicensed weight-loss injections, highlighting how black-market demand for so-called "skinny jabs" is fuelling organised criminal activity.

The regulator suspects the 28-acre estate, praised in online reviews as "the perfect venue" and "simply magical", was being used as a large-scale facility to manufacture, assemble and distribute unlicensed weight-loss medicines, including retatrutide and tirzepatide, along with peptide products. Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in the prescription drug Mounjaro, while retatrutide is an experimental treatment still undergoing clinical trials. The MHRA said it was targeting an "organised criminal group", and photographs from the raid showed cardboard boxes and containers full of jabs scattered across cluttered rooms.
