## Key points

- McCartney has named several Beatles songs he especially loves.
- His choices include songs by Lennon and himself.
- Personal memories shape his selections.

## Summary

Paul McCartney usually avoids naming favourite Beatles songs, but in interviews he has singled out several tracks he particularly loves. His choices offer a personal view of the band’s catalogue, shaped by his own songwriting and memories of making music with John Lennon and the other Beatles.

Among the songs he praised are “Strawberry Fields Forever”, “Hey Jude”, “Blackbird” and “Eleanor Rigby”. He also named Lennon songs including “Across the Universe” and “Julia”, recalling the latter’s connection to Lennon’s mother, and remembered the fun of recording the comedy B-side “You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)”. Earlier Beatles songs “From Me to You” and “This Boy” also feature in the article’s selection.
