## Key points

- Williams refused to watch an unauthorised film about his life.
- He said the project was “weird” and he had not seen a script.
- The 2005 NBC drama drew little attention.

## Summary

Robin Williams said he would not watch the 2005 television film *Behind the Camera: The Unauthorised Story of Mork & Mindy*, which dramatised events behind the sitcom that made him a television star. He called the prospect “weird” and objected to a film about his life being made without his involvement.

Williams said he had asked to see a script but was told there was none, and that he had tried to contact those making the film before deciding to disengage. The NBC drama received little attention; Chris Diamantopoulos was mildly praised for his portrayal of Williams, but the article describes the film as routine and inessential.
