## Key points

- The Alexander brothers received 30-year sentences for sex trafficking.
- Their family hopes they will serve time closer to Miami.
- A prison incident has intensified debate over keeping them together.

## Summary

Oren, Tal and Alon Alexander have each been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of sex trafficking. Their family is adjusting to the sentences and hopes they will be placed in Florida, closer to relatives in Miami, while prison officials consider whether the brothers should be held together or separately.

The brothers have been held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since December 2024, and relatives reportedly visit at least weekly. Their representative says they were shaken after an inmate allegedly rushed towards them in the prison library but were not injured; a source suggested the incident may have been an extortion attempt. The sentencing judge recommended separating them, while their family argues that remaining together could offer protection.
