The Apple TV Masterpiece That Dolly Parton Loved Officially Smashes a Jaw-Dropping Milestone

Ted Lasso, Apple TV's flagship comedy-drama, has now spent more than 950 days on Apple TV's US top ten chart, over 100 days longer than the streamer's next-longest-running hit, Severance. The milestone underlines the show's enduring popularity and its importance to Apple TV, coming as the series enjoys a fourth season many fans had not expected after it appeared to conclude with season three. The achievement has also drawn renewed attention to the show's connection with Dolly Parton, who died last month aged 80, and who was a noted fan after being referenced in the series.

Season four, which returned last month, sees Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) join Alice Chilton (Tanya Reynolds) in coaching AFC Richmond's new women's team, alongside returning favourites Keeley Jones (Juno Temple), Leslie Higgins (Jeremy Swift) and Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham). The new season's premiere set streaming records for Apple TV, pulling in 296.6 million views over its first two days, including more than 200 million minutes watched in the opening 24 hours alone, making it the platform's biggest launch to date. New episodes air weekly on Apple TV.
