The Beatles Are Officially Back on Abbey Road in Incredible Biopic First Look

Collider · 3 hours ago

A first-look leak has revealed images of the four stars of "The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event" crossing Abbey Road in costume, offering an early glimpse of the most ambitious Beatles biopic project yet undertaken. The films, directed by Sam Mendes with writing from Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan and Jack Thorne, mark the first time the band and their estates have approved life rights and music for a theatrical feature, arriving as the musical biopic genre enjoys renewed commercial momentum.

The project comprises four separate films, each told from the perspective of a different band member, tracing the group's story from their formation and early Cavern Club days in Liverpool through to global stardom. Paul Mescal plays Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson plays John Lennon, Joseph Quinn plays George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan plays Ringo Starr, with all four films set for release in April 2028. The news follows the record-breaking success of Antoine Fuqua's Michael, which became the first biopic to surpass $1 billion at the box office, prompting Lionsgate to confirm a sequel is in development.
