The first season of Pokémon: Indigo League, the original Pokémon anime series, is set to become available on Hulu and Disney Plus from Friday 7 August, alongside its existing availability on Netflix. The move gives viewers more ways to watch Ash Ketchum’s early journey through Kanto, including his first encounters with Pikachu, Brock, Misty and several iconic Pokémon.

All 52 episodes of season one will be offered, including well-known instalments such as “Bye-Bye Butterfree” and “Here Comes the Squirtle Squad”. Viewers seeking a broader run of the anime can watch earlier seasons through season nine on the Pokémon TV YouTube channel, while Disney XD will begin broadcasts with an all-day marathon on 6 August before moving to regular weekday and weekend slots.
