Brighton four-piece Hutch, self-described "psychedelic twang-pop enthusiasts," were invited by Far Out Magazine to nominate an overlooked album for its "The Best Record You've Never Heard" feature, timed to the release of their second EP, Mrs Sunshine. Band member Jack Pritchard chose Gord's Horse, a 2017 album by San Francisco garage-psych group Cool Ghouls, praising its Beatles-esque harmonies, playful sonic experimentation and strong collaborative songwriting.

Pritchard, who discovered Cool Ghouls through Manchester label Melodic Records while at university, noted the album was recorded in a decommissioned naval shipyard and originally released only on cassette during the band's 2017 US tour before getting a European release. He highlighted tracks including "Ring for the Mole," "Legs in September" and "Unionize," and drew a personal connection to the album's reported anti-fascist themes, linking it to Hutch's own recent involvement in organising a "Brighton Against Fascism" event.
